Darragh has been teaching English as a foreign language for more than 20 years to all ages and levels. He holds a bachelor's degree in modern languages, a masters degree in English and a postgraduate diploma in teaching English as a foreign language, all from the National University of Ireland. He has experience as a Cambridge and IELTS examiner, academic manager and editor. From 2008 to 2014, he worked in sales and marketing for language teaching publishers. He lives in Mexico City where he currently runs a language centre specialising in the teaching of English, Portuguese and Spanish for specific purposes.
Coursebooks are a core element of any curriculum as the unique contributors to content learning and the transfer of knowledge and skills. Deciding on the most appropriate coursebook is crucial to any language program, but has a series of implications that every school administrator must consider.
In this talk, we will look at where value lies for the markets we sell our language courses into. We will see how Personal Best enhances our offer for customers, thereby helping us to sell more. A textbook series should be more than material to use in the classroom. It should help us build our language centre's brand by helping our customers be the best they can be.
We will also look at the administrative and practical challenges we face when it comes to offering a quality service to our clients. We will analyse how Richmond has come up with the perfect solution with state of the art digital components for young adults and adults.
